With this much work, no one will be unemployed in India – everyone will get a job.

A recent study by the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER) has found that if India addresses some of its shortcomings, it can create 350 million new jobs by 2030. According to a new study by the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER), if India addresses some of its shortcomings, it can create 350 million new jobs by 2030. These jobs can be in manufacturing and services. But for this, skill development and investment will have to be accelerated.
According to Pathways to Jobs, India’s workforce has increased by 90 million since 2017-18, but only 60 million new jobs have been created. This means that many people are still not able to find jobs. The study says that 280 million jobs could come from the services sector in the future. The report also says that if labor-intensive investment in manufacturing and services increases, employment can double. But some problems are holding this back. First, growth in manufacturing has stalled. Second, the need for labour in manufacturing is decreasing. Third, there is a huge shortage of skilled labour. In 2018, 92 percent of the workforce had no training. By 2024, this number had come down to 65 percent, yet only 4 percent of the workforce had formal training.
This will create jobs
According to the study, the number of people working in agriculture in India has decreased. But the construction sector has not been able to keep up. The number of high-skilled jobs in the service sector has increased, but the skills gap is still very wide. Experts have made some suggestions to address this. In this regard, vocational education should be increased in schools, where students can choose educational and skill-based tracks. In addition, the government should increase public spending, reduce taxes, encourage investment, and simplify labor laws.
350 million jobs is not a small thing. Such a number of jobs will almost eliminate the unemployment problem in the country and write a new chapter of progress. There will probably be no unemployed in the country. The country’s per capita GDP will also increase, due to which the country can become the second or third largest economy in the world. However, the problem is with the willpower of the government. This does not mean that the current Modi government is not doing anything. Compared to all the previous governments, the Modi government is working more to eliminate unemployment and improve the economy, due to which India has become the fourth largest economy in the world today. However, there is a need for more dynamism in this direction. If the government can create a stable manufacturing sector and increase the labor force, as well as eliminate the shortage of skilled workers, then the country can definitely become the most prosperous country in the world.
