The year-long search for the BJP’s national president is nearing completion. Significant news has emerged that the name of the national president may be announced before December 15th.
Clearly, with the power in the hands of the Prime Minister and his Chanakya, holding elections is not only difficult but impossible. It is certainly certain that the new BJP president will be announced by mutual consent. The most significant aspect of this entire matter is that the Bhagwat issue, which has been the biggest concern of the Gujarat lobby, has also been resolved. Consequently, it is certain that the new BJP president will not only be from the Gujarat lobby, but insider reports indicate that the search for a new president has been completed, with only the announcement pending. Who will the BJP appoint as its national president, and how has the Bhagwat issue of the Gujarat lobby been resolved?
The term of the current national president, JP Nadda, ended a year ago, but a national president has still not been appointed. It is claimed that the BJP must elect its national president only after at least 50% of its units have held elections, but this process has been ongoing for quite some time, yet the national president has not yet been elected. However, in between there were reports that there was a huge rift between the Gujarat lobby of BJP and RSS.
RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, at any cost, did not want the new national president to be from the Gujarat lobby. Although the BJP had submitted several names to the RSS, these were rejected. Subsequently, it was decided that the election of the national president would take place after the Bihar elections. However, the most significant development in this period was that the Prime Minister personally bridged the gap between the RSS and the Gujarat lobby. He not only presented the RSS’s history to the public from the Red Fort but also presented Mohan Bhagwat with a supreme gift on his 75th birthday.
The Prime Minister not only wrote articles about Bhagwat in newspapers but also listed him as a “shaper of India’s destiny.” This not only bridged the gap that had been forming between the Gujarat lobby and the RSS, but also strengthened the relationship between the BJP and the RSS even more. Furthermore, the RSS is very pleased with PM Modi’s magical victory in the Bihar elections, and now the ongoing tussle between the Gujarat lobby and the RSS over the election of the national president has been completely resolved.
The biggest proof of this has emerged from Uttar Pradesh. There were insider reports that things were not going well between the Gujarat lobby and Yogi Adityanath. This was the reason why the name of the state president had been undecided for the past several months in Uttar Pradesh. But now, hope has emerged in Uttar Pradesh as well. It is being claimed that the RSS has been active in Uttar Pradesh for the past 10 days, and that RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat himself has become active regarding Uttar Pradesh. It is reported that when Mohan Bhagwat visited Ayodhya on November 24th, he met with Yogi Adityanath, and the two met for over an hour in a closed room.
It is claimed that the RSS chief also discussed cabinet expansion, including the Uttar Pradesh state president. Subsequently, several senior RSS leaders reportedly met in Lucknow to finalize each and every detail, and the name of the state president is said to be finalized, and an announcement is expected soon. It is clear that Bhagwat’s relationship with the Prime Minister is very good these days, and this explains why Mohan Bhagwat has managed to smooth things over after the rift with the Gujarat lobby in Uttar Pradesh. This explains why the Gujarat lobby will now have the national president. This is why there are indications that the Bharatiya Janata Party will soon have a new national president.
It is reported that several high-level meetings were held on Wednesday, attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, along with other prominent figures. There is also speculation that the BJP has also finalized the name of the Uttar Pradesh president, with only the announcement remaining. However, the party has not officially stated anything. It is now expected that the BJP may elect a new president before December 15th. According to media reports, there are discussions within the BJP that a new president could be elected before December 15th. This is because the month of Kharmas begins on December 16th. However, the party has not yet clarified when the new president will be elected. According to a report in the Deccan Chronicle, due to elections in several states next year, i.e., in 2026, many leaders believe that a new president should be elected before these elections.
Assembly elections are scheduled for 2026 in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Puducherry, and Assam. PM Modi, Home Minister Shah, current President Jagat Prakash Nadda, and BJP General Secretary BL Santosh participated in a series of meetings on Wednesday. Notably, Santosh was also in Uttar Pradesh a few days ago, meeting with several prominent figures, including Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and RSS co-general secretary Arun Kumar. There is speculation that the name of the BJP president for Uttar Pradesh has been finalized, and a major announcement may be made soon. Currently, an official announcement is pending.
On the other hand, regarding the national president, a leader close to Modi and Shah is considered certain to be appointed, as they fit the Modi-Shah mold perfectly, as JP Nadda has so far. Let me tell you what all has happened to JP Nadda, he was publicly insulted many times on stage and other places by the Gujarat lobby, but even after this, poor Nadda ji continued to be associated with the Gujarat lobby and now the name of a similar leader is also in the news.
Dharmendra may be the new party chief
This name belongs to none other than Dharmendra Pradhan. Firstly, Dharmendra Pradhan comes from the OBC community. Second, he is close to Modi and Shah. Third, he was recently appointed in-charge of the Bihar elections, and under his guidance, the NDA achieved a significant victory. This could potentially dent Dharmendra Pradhan’s name. The RSS is also expected to express its approval soon. Besides Dharmendra Pradhan, the names of Union Home Minister Nityanand Rai, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Bhupendra Yadav, and BJP leader Vinod Tawde are also being considered. Among women leaders, Union Ministers Nirmala Sitharaman, D. Purandeswari, and Vanathi Srinivasan are leading the way.
However, it is believed that Dharmendra Pradhan’s name will be finalized, as the Prime Minister may propose his name. Although no official information has yet been released, Dharmendra Pradhan is most likely to be appointed the new national president. However, it cannot be denied that Modi-Shah’s decisions have always been surprising.
Whether it was the election of Chief Ministers in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Delhi, or the recent selection of the Vice President, the Gujarat lobby’s decisions have always been surprising. This could be the case with the election of the national president as well, and a similar name could emerge. Some Rajasthan leaders may be disgruntled, but according to insider reports so far, Dharmendra Pradhan’s name is considered a certainty.
It will be very interesting to see what happens next. Will Dharmendra Pradhan be crowned the new BJP president? Will the RSS approve Dharmendra Pradhan’s name? Will the BJP national president be crowned before December 15th, or will elections be held in January 2025 ?
